Our Mission

Black Heritage Culinary Co. is a nonprofit aiming to educate, connect, and empower the foodways of Black communities worldwide. By research and dissemination of black diasporic culinary traditions, fostering cultural pride and community resilience through recipes and techniques passed down from across the African continent.

Executive summary

Black Heritage Culinary Co. is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit dedicated to researching, preserving, and teaching the rich culinary traditions of the African diaspora. Leveraging rigorous scholarship, multimedia publishing, and strategic partnerships, we will produce peer‑reviewed articles, downloadable lesson plans, and a weekly YouTube tutorial series that pairs hands‑on cooking demos with cultural storytelling. Working on community workshops will empower home cooks, K–12 educators, and cultural institutions with turnkey resources—ensuring that the flavors, histories, and techniques of West African, Caribbean, and African‑American cuisines are documented, celebrated, and accessible to all. Through our core values of cultural integrity, academic rigor, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and sustainability, BHC Co. will foster intercultural understanding, economic opportunity for Black‑owned suppliers, and enduring pride in Black culinary heritage.
